Know well the state of your flocks, and pay attention to your herds, for riches are not forever, nor does the crown endure to all generations. The hay is removed, and the new growth appears, the grasses of the hills are gathered in. The lambs are for your clothing, and the goats are the price of a field. There will be plenty of goats' milk for your food, for your family's food, and for the nourishment of your servant girls. Proverbs 27:23-27

Cookie of Jones Family Farm

Cookie is one of our oldest does.  Approximate year of birth 2022.
She was give to us with a group of brush goats.  Although the rest of her tribe is gone, she has made friends with the new does in our herd.

Wild and barely catchable when we got her, she has learned to appreciate some scratches and treats. I still have to catch her sometimes, but she usually readily comes to the milk stand and returns to her enclosure.

Cookie came into motherhood at around 2 years of age. Admittedly, she is my favorite doe. She has nice conformation, behaves well on the milk stand, and produces a large quantity of milk.
